We've everything from wobble dishes and totter beams to spring horses, sound rollers and wooden playhouses. Make sure you visit in May half-term to have a go on the new zip wire.

Meet the butler and housekeeper

Look out for the butler and housekeeper in traditional dress. See if you can beat them at the kind of games that Victorian children would have played and learn how servants lived at Nostell.

Dress up and make believe

Don't miss the chance to dress up in the servants' quarters of the house. Get all the family involved with Victorian smocks, hats, and overcoats to help you step into character.

Explore outdoors

If you enjoy outdoor fun, check out our activities page for inspiration from cycling and running to den building and geocaching. For little visitors, make sure you pick up a 50 things to so before you're 11 ¾ scrapbook - you can tick off lots at Nostell.

Explore the gardens

Keen photographers will find picture perfect opportunities by wandering through the pleasure gardens. Don't miss the Rose Garden in summer and explore the lakeside paths to find the secluded Menagerie House. How many varieties of rhubarb can you count in in the Kitchen Garden?

Nature spotting

You can spot grey herons fishing in the lakes at Nostell Priory

The gardens and parkland are a haven for birds and mammals. Listen out for the woodpeckers as you explore the woodland, spot herons, swans and ducks as you walk along the lakeside paths and look out for bats feeding at dusk.

Walks

The parkland is the ideal place for a walk. Explore on your own or join a guided walk. For details see our events list.
