Visit Father Christmas at Nymans this festive season

Latest update 18.11.2013 13:17

During December enjoy a new display each day with our garden Advent calendar. Exciting new festive designs appear every day to celebrate the approach of Christmas. And a very special visitor is expected as well...

The Advent calendar is coordinated by award winning floral arrangers Jean Plaskett and Claudie Timms.  Joined by local clubs, societies, staff and volunteers as well as local school children, all designers work to a theme of traditions old and new.

Each designer will explore their own Christmas tradition as well as looking at those more widely held. Adding colour and decoration to the landscape they have become part of our Christmas tradition. While you are enjoying the garden this December admire not only the creative craft of the designers but also their ingenuity in creating durable outdoor art  which is able to withstand the demands of the British winter. With a new design each day in December and the display lasting into the first week of January, it's well worth making a return visit to admire the full effect.

Family fun

At each of the special Christmas weekends we are expecting a visit from the big man himself. Families can follow the reindeer trail to Father Christmass grotto where he will be welcoming children and handing out presents. There will be lots of festive fun too with special Christmas craft activities in the Potting Shed.

Booking is required for visits to Father Christmas' grotto on 01444 405250 from 1 December. There is a small charge for visiting Father Christmas, and craft activities are free.
