The conservatory as it once was and now in desperate need of repair

Save our conservatory...
Having stood for almost one hundred years, the conservatory here at Overbeck's is in desperate need of repair. Help us raise funds by buying a raffle ticket when you visit, and the money we raise will be matched by the National Trust.
In the garden...

We propagate many of our plants and send material to the plant conservation programme at Knightshayes - the National Trust's specialist propagation unit which propagates rare and threatened plants.

In the winter the blinds are pulled down, furniture is covered with sheets, and delicate objects are stored away. We then begin the annual cleaning of what the conservators call the 'envelope' otherwise known as the walls, floors, windows, and doors. Then throughout the year we will set about conserving individual objects such as the dollhouse settings and the model ships.
