Join the Packwood team

Jane and Mo are two relatively new volunteers who guide our visitors around the garden. We’ve got lots of interesting volunteer roles in our friendly and enthusiastic team at Packwood.

All our volunteers play a vital role in helping visitors enjoy their time at Packwood.

Shop Assistant

Shelia has volunteered in the shop for 8 years

Sheila works in the shop and enjoys meeting and greeting people who are enjoying a day out,

'I particularly admire the garden borders in June and July, when the colours are fantastic.'

Room Guide

Cathy enjoys welcoming visitors to Packwood

Cathy enjoys meeting people and hopes that they have a memorable visit to Packwood. She was encouraged to join by her husband Peter who is also a volunteer here.

Bryan gets stuck in

Bryan enjoys his time volunteering as a gardener in the kitchen garden. What he likes most about working here is 'the feeling that one is helping to sustain the wonderful countryside and houses in the UK.'

Room Guide and Day Organiser

'I have known Packwood House since childhood, so when I saw an advert in 1996 in the local press for volunteers, I applied to join the team.'

Alan enjoys welcoming visitors and bringing Packwood to life, enabling people to learn more about the history of the house in an interesting and enjoyable way.

'I am also responsible for the security of items in the house, and occasionally organise the other room guides with their shifts and breaks. My favourite places in Packwood House are the Great Hall and the Long Gallery with all the beautiful tapestries.'

With the changes to our opening hours, we need more volunteers especially at holiday times, so if you're interested please do volunteer your time, whatever hours you can manage.
