Our collection

Information about the Polesden collection is available online

You can discover more about Mrs Greville's fabulous collection online or visit in person and chat to our friendly room guides. The collection ranges from world-famous Dutch old masters to sparkling objects by Fabergé.

New display this spring

Previously unseen private items help bring the apartment to life

Previously unseen private items help bring the apartment to life

Explore the changing faces of Mrs Greville’s apartment over the last 100 years in this brand new display, the result of two years of research by our house team. Also included is a room looking at the wider house, including facsimiles of the original 1905 Poynter plans and a 3D model.

The Sèvres tea set

We recently purchased an art deco tea set which belonged to Mrs Greville. King George V used to visit Polesden Lacey with Queen Mary, who often telephoned at short notice to announce herself for afternoon tea.

Replica tiara

Come and see the replica of Mrs Greville's Boucheron tiara. She left the original tiara to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The Duchess of Cornwall wore it at a Commonwealth summit and the state opening of parliament in 2013.

Dust and diamonds

Caring for our collection is a big job. You'll often see our conservation team working away in the house, just as Mrs Greville's staff did. Feel free to ask them what they're doing and get involved.
