Exploring South East Cornwall's history and culture
The fishing villages of Polperro and Looe are ideal starting points to explore this part of South East Cornwall. With a range of walks for all abilities there are some great opportunities for everyone to take in this unspoilt coast along the South West Coast Path.
The network of footpaths that we maintain provides views overlooking the historic smuggling cove of Talland Bay, the close, yet far, Looe Island and the far reaching sands of Whitsand Bay. With places to fly kites, walk and get down to the beach there are many ways to enjoy the coast and countryside of Polperro, Looe and Whitsand Bay.
With miles of the South West Coast Path to step onto along this coastline you're spoilt for choice of where to take a walk.

There are so many beaches in this area. Here are a few ideas to whet your appetite
- Go swimming at Talland Bay, Port Nadler or take a dip in the tidal pool at Polperro
- Try surfing at Whitsand and Sharrow
- Explore the rock pools at Hannafore and Port Nadler
Whitsand in the east has miles of sandy beaches and cliff top paths for walking, picnics, swimming and surfing.
Looe is a bustling working harbour. There's a family beach in East Looe as well as the rock pools and places to swim along Hannafore on the western side of the town.
Walking west along the coast from Looe to Talland Bay, you'll finally arrive at Polperro which is full of interest and charm. There are lots of hidden coves to explore along the way.
