50 things to do before you're 11¾ at Powis Castle

Here's a little secret: the great outdoors really is great.

There are plenty of outdoor adventures to be had at Powis Castle and Gardens whatever the weather this season. 

We've tracked down the 50 coolest outdoor things to do before you're 11¾, and you can start your very own adventure at Powis today. Pick up a scrapbook from our garden entrance kiosk and you're ready to begin exploring.

You can collect stickers for the activities you have a go at but how many of the 50 things can you tick off your list?

    4. Build a den

    To build a great den all you need is your hands, good woodland and some imagination. We have the good woodland, so we'll see you there.
     

    6. Run around in the rain

    You don't just need sunshine to have fun in, pop on your wellies and raincoat and come and see if you can dodge raindrops in the garden.

    10. Play conkers

    Thread one of our conkers onto a piece of string and then let battle commence. '...a great conker is one that has been stored in a dry place for at least a year. This matures it and makes it rock hard and therefore formidable.' [Roald Dahl]

    12. Make a trail with sticks

    We have hundreds of trees in our garden and across the parkland. See how many leaves you can catch as they fall throughout the autumn months. We recommend a windy day as you have to get the timing just right.
