Display: Life on Watership Down by Aldo Galli 

Open 11am-3pm, Thursdays to Sundays between 21 March and 23 June. Also Bank Holiday Mondays on 1 April, 6 May and 27 May 2024. With Sandham Memorial Chapel located on the edge of Watership Down, see beautiful illustrations commissioned by author Richard Adams to accompany the 40th anniversary edition of his famous novel. Paintings by the Hampshire-based artist Aldo Galli show the local landscape - including the Down - together with wildlife and flowers as described in the much-loved children's tale. Suitable for all ages, entry to the display is included in normal admission.

Visiting Sandham Memorial Chapel with your dog

Dogs are welcome on a short lead throughout the gardens and orchard at Sandham Memorial Chapel. Only assistance dogs are able to enter the Chapel and exhibition. Sandham has a one pawprint rating as we offer canine visitors a water bowl and lots of interesting wildlife smells in the garden.
