  • Picnics are welcome in the garden and parkland
  • Groups visits welcome - please book ahead
  • Free parking all year round
  • We welcome dogs on leads on the parkland and off-lead in East Park. Dogs on short leads are also welcome in the garden after 2.30pm daily
  • We ask for dogs to be on short leads in the garden - spares are available to borrow from reception
  • Dog waste bins are provided on the three entry points onto the parkland along the drive and inside the garden on the reception building. Dog waste bags are available on the bins or from reception
  • Drinking water for dogs is available at reception and the tea-room. Outdoor seating at the tea-room for visitors with dogs to enjoy
  • Dogs are welcome in the Garden Room in the tea-room, which can be accessed around the back of the Coach House
  • Due to our Grade I listing, there are no waste bins available in the gardens or parkland

Family & children

  • Natural woodland play trail across the parkland. 15-minute walk from reception, across grass, so could be muddy in wet weather. Buggy friendly but come prepared for the weather on the day
  • Family activities to pick up from reception every day to explore the garden and parkland
  • Areas of open water around the garden, close supervision strongly advised
  • All-terrain pushchair and back carriers available to borrow
  • Baby-changing facilities in toilets at reception and the tea-room
  • Children's lunches and grab bags in our tea-room
  • Bottle and baby food warming facilities in the tea-room
  • Children's scooters are sometimes allowed, however we may withdraw their use due to weather, events or path erosion. Please call to check beforehand.


  • Mobility parking in main car park, 50 yards from reception
  • Additional mobility parking beyond the coach park, 50 yards from tea-room
  • Majority of garden is accessible, there are some slopes and paths made of a non-gravel surface
  • Accessible toilets adjacent to reception and in our restaurant
  • Tea-room has easy sloped access for wheelchairs
  • Mobility scooters are available to borrow - please call 01825 790231 to book one for your visit. A minimum donation of £2 is requested

We have fully accessible toilet facilities in reception and the tea-room and much of our garden is accessible by wheelchair or mobility vehicle. We have wheelchairs available for your use or you are welcome to pre-book one of our two mobility buggies, all we ask is for is a minimum donation of £2. To pre-book, please call us on 01825 790231.
