Family travelling to St Michaels Mount at high tide

Children will be fascinated by the history, legends and myths surrounding St Michaels Mount (will they be able to find the giant’s heart in the pathway up to the castle or the well where the legendary giant is said to have fallen to his death?) and are able to explore and learn within the castle walls with an entertaining quiz that leads them through the castle searching for clues. In the gardens, children can follow the clues and discover the unique nature of some of the plants of the sub-tropical gardens as well as historical facts from times gone by. The causeway to St Michaels Mount is cobbled which can make it tricky to navigate pushchairs and we would recommend using hipsters or baby carriers as an option. However, if you do decide to bring pushchairs we have a secure area to park them. The climb to the castle is steep so pushchairs are not allowed but we do have a number of hipster seats which can be used free of charge to make the climb for you and your baby or toddler easier. There are baby-changing facilities on the island and the Island Café and Sail Loft Restaurant have a number of high chairs and serve a number of good value and healthy snacks, drinks and meals for children.
