Enjoy a roll in the hay ... barn

Our beautiful 18th-century barn is now home to our 21st-century restaurant, serving full meals as well as lighter snacks, hot drinks and a deliciously tempting array of cakes.
Local flavour from the Kitchen Garden

Standen's Kitchen Garden is now restored and in production. As well as supplying our restaurant with fresh fruit and vegetables, its produce is also sold direct to you from our Kitchen Garden barrow.
Designers in the shop
As well as selling great gifts and classic National Trust souvenirs, the shop at Standen is also a showcase for the best in contemporary craft and design, which follow the tradition of the Arts and Crafts Movement.
JCJ pottery

Based near Pevensey in East Sussex, Jonathan Chiswell Jones creates lustreware ceramics using the methods of William De Morgan whose 19th-century works are also on show at Standen. Each piece is hand made at Jonathan's studio, and are a favourite in the shop at Standen. See more of his work here.
Beth Russel needlepoint

Beth Russell has created an original needlepoint collection for the home from favourite William Morris designs, including cushion covers, rugs and fire screens. Available in kit form from Standen's shop, they are a great way to create your own works of art. See more of her work here.
