Your dog is welcome

  • In the landscape garden after 4pm from March - October
  • In the landscape garden after 3pm in November
  • All day, every day from December - February

Dogs are welcome across Stourhead’s countryside areas all year round.

Please help us by keeping your dog on a lead and picking up after it when in the landscape garden.

Explore further

We have five estate walks that are ideal for exploring with your dog year round. The walks take between 1 hour and 2½ hours to complete.

Livestock: You are likely to encounter cattle and / or sheep in the parkland areas around the house and in Six Wells Valley. Sheep only are likely to be found on Whitesheet Hill and in Turners Paddock.

 

Refreshments

Visit the restaurant after your walk for a refreshing snack and have a look at the new gift ideas in our shop. We are open 9am-5pm in March and until 7pm from April to October.

Paws for thought

There is plenty of outdoor seating at Stourhead, Wiltshire

Please feel free to use the seating in the visitor reception courtyard, why not sit down and relax after your walk?

A water bowl is on hand for thirsty dogs, just let one of our team members know if it needs topping up.

Parking

The car parks at Stourhead in Wiltshire have limited shade

Our parking offers limited shade, and it's available on a first come first served basis.

Our car park team are on hand to help if you do need to find some shade for your pet pooch, and will do their best to help.
