The Red Lion are passionate about beer and food, using only the best local breweries and high-quality food producers, some of whom actually live in the village.

A warm, friendly atmosphere can be found in this attractive 16th-century coaching inn located in Kilmington, just north of Stourhead on the B3092 towards Maiden Bradley.

Set in the heart of Stourton village, the historic Spread Eagle Inn offers a range of delicious lunches, evening meals, and cream teas.

All the dishes have local origins and focus on the produce of the South West.

Pre-loved books

Our second hand bookshop in the Stableyard is open every day during the main season and you can pick up some wonderful reads. All proceeds help keep Stourhead special.

The farm shop

Superb seasonal local produce and award-winning meats from Coldcot Farm are all stocked in our farm shop, run by one of our tenant farmers.
Open seven days a week, 10am-5pm throughout summer.

First-View art gallery

The First-View gallery hosts wonderful exhibitions, with plenty of local art and crafts for sale.

Beautiful displays

The gallery has three rooms and the displays regularly change. The pieces on show are exciting and varied, ranging from watercolours to sculpture and ceramics.

The Studio

First-View has also recently opened a studio next door to the gallery. The studio is used to host First-View’s own events, but can be hired out for exhibitions.

The ice-cream parlour

Whether it's setting yourself up for a big walk or rewarding yourself afterwards, the Temple of Refreshment has everything you need including delectable dairy ice cream.
