Volunteer Open Days

Could you be what we are looking for?  Can you spare a few hours to help welcome visitors or serve customers in our shop?  We’re looking for friendly locals to join the ever-growing group of volunteers that help provide a warm welcome to visitors at Stowe.  Why not come along to one of our open days, drop in and chat with our team and find out more about how you could get involved?

• Wednesday 12 February, 1.30-8.00pm
• Saturday 1 March, 11.00am-3.00pm

“We're looking for people from all walks of life to lend us a hand – and though Stowe is a large garden you don’t need to be a gardener", our Volunteer Development officer, Richard Skillbeck says.  We've got plenty of roles available, from meeting and greeting visitors to answering their questions and suggesting the best bits of the gardens for their visit.  You could help create imaginative displays in our shop, showing customers products, or help give our plants sales a good drink of water. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills and try something different. It also lets you see and be part of the behind-the-scenes work National Trust does to protect historic places. Training and support is given.

If you can't come to one of our open days but are still interested, call on 01280 817156 or email us

The open days will be taking place in the Bennett Room here at New Inn Visitor Centre.

We look forward to seeing you there.
