Here at the National Trust we look after much of the beautiful Northumberland Coast, one of the UK's most celebrated landscapes. You can help us preserve this special place for ever, for everyone by taking part in the sea-themed online auction to raise funds for our coastline conservation appeal, Neptune.

How you made a difference

Acquisition of Seaton Delaval Hall

The fundraising drive for this much loved property was unprecedented, raising £3m over 6 months, with much of this coming from the local community. With the National Trust contributing a £6.9m endowment too, this made sure we could preserve this special place forever. Today it's rejuvenated and open to the public.

Keeping switched on at Cragside

In 2006, we had to close the magnificent house at Cragside when an electrical survey condemned the old wiring. Through extraordinary generosity from people like you, we raised the £1.5m needed to switch the lights back on in April 2007 and keep Lord Armstrong's extraordinary creation open for future generations.
