Breathtaking natural beauty and great for walking and wildlife

Strangford Lough is a unique and wonderful place of immense international importance for nature conservation. It is the largest sea Lough in the British Isles and one of only three designated Marine Nature Reserves in the UK. A dedicated team of National Trust wardens and volunteers based at Mount Stewart have carefully manage the habitats and monitor the wildlife.

The area is characterised by old, open-grown trees and shrubs

Castle Coole has been designated an Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI) by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency due to its rich parkland habitat and associated species.  The historic Castle Coole park, which can be traced back to the 17th-century.
