Llyndy Isaf, one of the many special places that we protect in Snowdonia

Our Snowdonia Appeal was launched in 1990 by Sir Anthony Hopkins to protect and conserve National Trust land in Snowdonia.

In 2011 we launched a special campaign to buy and protect the 600-acre hill farm Llyndy Isaf, including the iconic lake Llyn Dinas.

Walkers using one of the repaired footpaths on the Brecon Beacons

Imagine Brecon without the Beacons.

In the 40 years that we have owned the Brecon Beacons, they have been subjected to pressures previously unknown in their history. Simple sheep tracks have become jagged scars on the landscape.

A combination of walkers' feet and the weather has created erosion that necessitates urgent repairs.

Abermawr - just a small part of the coastline in Pembrokeshire

Climate change, rising sea levels and the effects of coastal change are increasingly taking their toll.

So how can we continue to keep the unique essence of our coastlines alive – for our generation and those that follow us?

That is the challenge for the Neptune Coastline Campaign.

How you've helped

Thanks to the generosity of the supporters of the Neptune Coastline Campaign, the Welsh Government through Visit Wales, and the European Development Fund, a vital stretch of coastline on the Llwn Peninsula in North Wales has been saved.
