Where to take your dog in the gardens

We welcome dogs at Polesden within the area marked in yellow on the map. In fact, Mrs Greville who owned Polesden was a bit of a dog lover too.

However we do ask you keep them on a lead. Whilst it doesn't include the formal gardens, it does include the stunning views of Long Walk which is open throughout the summer, the lovely Preserve Copse and Nun's Walk, an interesting yew tree walkway which is open all year round.

Dog walking clubs

null

Come along to our dog walking club on the second Tuesday of every month, from 9.30-10.30am. For a longer stroll why not try our Pad Around Polesden on the third Wednesday of every month, from 9.30-11am.

We meet outside the Cowshed coffee shop, near the car park and it's free. No membership or entrance fees are needed, but there is a charge for the car park (free to National Trust members). Dogs are welcome but not compulsory.

Our 1400 acres of countryside is the perfect day out for any canine friend. Once in the countryside you are free to explore where you wish.

We do have working farms on the estate and ask that you keep your dogs on leads if livestock are in the field. Our tenant farmers usually lamb between April-May and therefore please be extra vigilant around this time. We do recommend that if cattle start to approach you let your dog off the lead.

Clearing up...

null

Please help keep the countryside lovely by picking up after your dog.

Waste bins are located in the car park, by Golf Course field and near the water tower, after passing through Visitor Reception (entrance fee required for this one).

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are always welcome here

Assistance dogs are always welcome throughout Polesden Lacey.

Please make sure they are wearing their identity harnesses.

If your dog is thirsty...

We have dog water bowls outside the Cowshed coffee shop and Granary café.

Although dogs can't go inside, we do have outdoor seating and a canopy for rainy days. Enjoy lunch or a slice of cake and a drink after your walk.

Car park

null

There is limited shade in the car park, so please refrain from leaving your dog in the car on a hot day.

Don't forget, you can take your dog into most of the grounds and across the estate, so there's no need for them to miss out.
