Buy a gift that will last centuries

We're working to restore the 18th century landscape around Wallington

If you're looking for a gift with a difference or a treat for yourself this year, just £20 will buy a tree and help us restore part of the historic landscape at Wallington.

We are fortunate enough to still have many of the old estate maps which show the original planting designs to the north of the house. In 2011 the Wallington Countryside Team started a project to restore elements of the 18th century 'Pleasure Grounds' created by Sir Walter Calverley Blackett.

Over 3,500 broad leaved trees of oak, ash, beech, rowan and hawthorn were planted in Huntly Plantation, a historic shelter belt that was lost in the 1960s, with many being sponsored and even planted by our visitors.

This year we will be reinstating another shelter belt close to Wallington and planting a number of hedgerow and parkland trees and we would love your support.

A donation of £20 will help us to buy and plant an individual oak, beech or ash tree in a shelter belt or hedgerow. While it won't be possible for us to identify each individual tree, each sponsor will receive a certificate and small gift in recognition of their donation along with a map showing the planting sites in 2012.

All donations will make a real difference and have a lasting legacy and those who receive this green gift will be able to visit Wallington and see their trees grow over the years.

So if you are looking for a special gift that will last a hundred years please contact us.
