For families
Here’s what you and the kids can get up to:
• Relax, picnic or play in the grassy Courtyard - it’s a lovely big lawn in the heart of Wallington, with the café and toilets in easy reach.
• Let off steam in the Adventure Playground – our woodland play area is full of exciting equipment for you to wear yourself out on.
• Explore the 'wild' West Woods – look out for red squirrels, peer into the ice house, hunt for signs of wildlife, build dens or stretch your legs on a walk down to the river.
• Try our Woodland Trail – pick up a woodland trail from visitor reception and follow its clues around Wallington to earn a goodie bag reward. £2.50 per child
• Look out for dragons – there are four stone dragons on the lawn in front of the house but there is rumoured to be a fifth dragon living in the woods somewhere.
• Spot the treasures in the House – see the weird and wonderful items in the Cabinet of Curiosities, check out the old toys in then nursery and admire our great collection of doll’s houses.
• Food & drink – children’s portions, pick-and-mix plates and ice-creams are available from the cafe and sweets and chocolate treats are available from the shop.
• Baby-changing and toilet facilities – there are toilets with baby-changing facilities in the courtyard and in the ladies toilets in the cafe.
Lunches for kids
Kids will love picking their own lunch plate in the café and choosing which delicious snacks they’d like to eat. Children’s portions of our hot meals are also available too.
What's on
As well as a wonderful house and gardens to explore, we’ve got family events and children’s activities happening throughout the year, from themed weekends to arts and crafts and hands-on wildlife activities.
