West Lakes rangers and visitors

Our property includes a wide variety of landscapes: mountains and lake, woodlands and meadows. The West Lakes rangers and volunteers keep this iconic area in top condition through practical work like repairing dry-stone walls, and by protecting the stunning ecological diversity of each landscape through grazing and habitat-management plans, so that our red squirrels, meadow flowers, owls and arctic flora can be enjoyed for generations to come. We also have specialist teams looking after forestry and maintaining our upland paths. We love talking about our work and know our property inside-out, so please come and say hello if you see us out and about in our red NT jackets!
