Things to see & do
Visit in spring to see beautiful displays of bulbs.
Between ancient trees the carpets of snowdrops give way to brightly coloured daffodils. These are then followed by bluebells and many other spring bulbs.
Visit in summer to picnic amongst the wildflowers.
In the summer the gardens come to life with wildlife and summer flowers, enjoy sunbathing next to the river Wye and relax in one of our new deckchairs.
Visit in autumn to see the colours of the garden completely change.
Stroll through the golden leaves in the woodland or visit the walled garden to see the glasshouse full of fruit and vegetables. Pick up some tips from our gardeners and take some freshly picked produce home with you.
We have lots of new events this year from Tai Chi courses to artist open days and guided walks. Have a look on our events page to find out more.
Get closer to nature
Visit in any season and pick up an adventure scrapbook to start your list of 50 things. In our riverside garden you can complete lots of the activities from bird watching on our viewing bridge to finding crazy creatures in our rockery pools. When you complete each thing pick up stickers at visitor reception to add to your scrapbook.
Uncover the secrets of The Weir
The Weir has many secrets hiding in the gardens and so much history to uncover, from Roman remains to giant fish. Visit us this year and pick up a leaflet to find out more about the interesting history of this site.
