The National Trust Green Energy fund was set up in 2007 to invest in low carbon initiatives at our places in England and Wales.

These projects have included replacing oil-fired boilers with biomass boilers and installing air- and ground-source heat pumps. See case studies of our renewable energy projects.

How the fund works

When you choose National Trust Green Energy in partnership with npower for your electricity supply, npower donates £15 to the Green Energy Fund. It will also donate £15 every year thereafter as long as you remain a customer of National Trust Green Energy.

If you also sign up for npower gas supply (becoming a duel fuel customer), npower will donate an additional £15 to the fund and £5 every year thereafter as long as you remain a customer of National Trust Green Energy.
