We've built our first ever straw bale building at St Catherine's Woods, near Windermere in the Lake District. Built using 380 straw bales the sustainable building is now being used as a classroom.

Keen to ensure traditional skills don't die out, we're encouraging our staff to learn and use traditional building skills wherever they can.
How we hope to save skills
We need to raise £500,000 towards to the cost of emergency conservation work.
We urgently need to repair the roof, reinforce ceilings and stabilise the fabric of the building....
