Drawing up plans for the Reach 24 Acres community project

We've teamed up with the residents of the small community of Reach to develop a community space for the benefit of people and wildlife.

Plans for the land include a cricket pitch, horse ménage, community orchard, a small astronomical observatory and woodland with picnic tables connected by a network of paths.

Ponds, hedgerows and wild flower meadows will also be created for wildlife.

Children planting saplings on White Fen

We are working with Lode Parish Council, The Woodland Trust & East Cambridgeshire District Council to create a community woodland on White Fen, near Lode.

The woodland is part of the Planting Parishes Scheme, which aims to increase tree cover in East Cambridgeshire, one of the least wooded areas in the country, by 5-10%.
