Places to stay

Fancy staying a little longer?

Bideford Bay area

A holiday paradise in your own gated combe down to the sea © National Trust

Whilst we don't have any holiday cottages in the Woolacombe and Croyde area we do have eight holiday cottages across the North Devon coast, all of which are close enough for you to visit this area and explore a little further too.

Combe Martin area

We have two cottages which are just outside Combe Martin. Great walks from the door, but only a short drive from the beach and village facilities.

Lynton and Lynmouth area

Just two miles from Lynmouth is the hamlet of Countisbury, choose a cottage high on the seas cliffs or get closer to the sea in our very own Lighthouse Keepers' cottage.

The Bunkhouse is a cosy option for large groups

Want to escape with a group of friends?

Exmoor Bunkhouse sleeps up to 18 people. Whether you are a group of friends wanting to get away or a residential trip, this is a great value option.

Two large dormitories, a leaders' room, excellent hot showers, a fully equipped kitchen and ample heating make it a cosy place to stay to explore Exmoor.

Lots of hungry mouths

The bunkhouse provides everything you need to make your group's stay a happy one. Our kitchen allows your group to cook for themselves or why not book a meal at the Blue Ball Inn (not National Trust), just up the road?

If the weather's nice use the barbecue and picnic tables outside.

An adventure awaits...

There are lots of active and not so active ways to spend your time. Surrounded by beautiful countryside it's ideal for painting and photography.

If you want to be more active there's walking, cycling, horse riding or even surfing. The options are limited only by your imagination.

Get out there and discover

There's a lot to see and do without traveling too far from the bunkhouse. Why not take the open-top bus down into Lynmouth and then the cliff-top railway to Lynton for a truly green day out. You'll find plenty of tea-rooms along the way to satisfy your appetite.

Accommodation supporting our work

Fantastic support from The Old Rectory

The Old Rectory hotel © Old Rectory Hotel

Proprietors Huw and Sam, and their guests, are helping to support the National Trust in North Devon through a unique donation scheme. The money raised is used to look after the coastline here.

The Old Rectory is an award-winning boutique hotel near the Heddon Valley. Last year they raised over £1,000 for us, so thank you very much.

Tenants diversify to allow you to stay

Town Farm, Morthoe, North Devon a B © Heide and David Barron

National Trust tenants Heide and David Barron run this beautiful listed B&B which sits in the heart of Mortehoe Village, close to the great sandy beach of Woolacombe.

With easy access to the South West Coast Path and four bedrooms to let, it's a great base for walkers. In the summer enjoy a cream tea in the front garden.
