A beautiful 20th-century masterpiece featuring colourful borders, a landscape garden and a collection of follies

Woolbeding is a modern garden of two halves, with the colour-themed garden rooms surrounding the house, plus a landscape garden. A gentle stroll over the open pasture land provides views of the River Rother and leads to the ruined abbey and on to the Chinese-style bridge and waterfall.

Please note that all visits to the gardens must be pre-booked.

Why do I need to pre-book?

Come and enjoy the gardens, one phone call is all it takes

Come and enjoy the gardens, one phone call is all it takes

We’re still very much a private garden. By pre-booking, we can ensure you'll experience the place as the tranquil oasis it's meant to be. As we’re also without a car park we need to know you'll be travelling on our park-and-ride minibus. You can book your visit in advance or on the same day. Just give us a ring.

This season

During the autumn and winter months, our gardening team will be busy with essential maintenance tasks. These include creating new garden designs, replanting and planning the colourful floral displays which will welcome visitors back in the spring and summer.

The garden rooms

The manicured colour-themed garden rooms are among the first part of the garden you’ll discover. They include a herb garden, well garden, fountain garden and vegetable garden as well as a few surprises.
