The summer of 1914, a house on the eve of the Great War - Nuffield Place was built in 1914. See our fascinating display charting the story of the house during the summer of that fateful year. Discover what the house looked like and how its inhabitants fared during the war.

Enjoy a delicious piece of cake in our tea room or pick up a delightful gift in our shop.  Why not treat yourself to something special too?

For families

Let children test drive a car of their own

For little ones, pick up spot the object playing cards in the house, or play dress up in our handling room. Drive your own mini vintage pedal car.

Garden games

Enjoy a game of croquet in the garden

There's nothing more lovely than playing games in the garden. Come rain or shine, enjoy a game of croquet or quoits in our gardens.

Garden tours

On certain days of the week you can join a tour of the gardens to learn about the restoration work we are doing. Please check at Visitor Reception upon arrival.
