Tyntesfield is beautiful in winter

Joan describes the winter of 1947 and remembers it being terrible. The snow came down and it stayed.

The buses kept running in the ridges left in the snow on Belmont Hill. Joan used them to cycle along to get to the station. The icicles used to hang down from the roofs and all the coal was frozen. The coal came from Clevedon, if not they burnt whatever they could find.

Listen to Joan's account above.
