If you're interested in exploring further, why not try a 'Stones and Bones' discovery visit to the Stone Circle, barrows and the Avenue. With elements of Drama, Geography, History and Music these are suitable for KS1, KS2 and KS3.
In partnership with English Heritage.
Free visits to Stonehenge Landscape
Explore the wider Stonehenge World Heritage Site with a free visit to Stonehenge Landscape. The fields around the Stone Circle are open access, so you don't need to book ahead. For information, please call 01980 664780.
Stretch your legs
The Cursus Barrows group of Bronze Age burial mounds are just a five-minute walk from the car park, with views across the downs to King Barrow Ridge. Or download our trail for a longer walk. The barrows at Stonehenge were built on the hills to obtain the best views of the Stone Circle. Please help the barrows last another 4,000 years by not climbing on them.
Bring a picnic
On a fine day Stonehenge Down is a great spot to lay out picnic blankets and enjoy lunchtime away from the hustle and bustle, with plenty of space to run around. In spring and summer, look and listen for skylarks high in the sky. Please take your litter home.
