The Italianate Terraces, with spectacular views across Snowdonia

Completed in 1905, the Italianate Terraces to the west of Bodnant Hall form the most formal part of the garden.

Spend some time enjoying the stately splendour, year round colour and far reaching views across the Conwy Valley. On a clear day, you can see the Carneddau mountains with Snowdonia beyond.

Chill out

Sit back and relax while you enjoy the amazing views across Snowdonia.  Smell the fragrant roses, and look out for colourful herbaceous plants and water lilies in summer. Take a walk along the Canal Terrace and discover the famous Pin Mill. From here you can admire the beautiful symmetry of the pergola and newly restored trellis.

Throughout the seasons

Throughout the season the Terraces provide a feast for the senses.  In summer there's a fantastic display of hydrangeas, lilies and other herbaceous plants on the Canal Terrace. The trellis is home to a variety of climbing plants, which flower from spring to autumn.

The Terraces are concluded by a spectacular display of magnolias and camellias on the Magnolia Walk, which is bursting with colour and fragrance in the spring.
