This is Wallington in a nutshell!

Gifted to you!

Sir Charles Philip Trevelyan gave Wallington to the National Trust in 1941. As a passionate socialist and supporter of the National Trust he wanted everyone to be able to enjoy this wonderful place. It is an amazing gift and it came from an extraordinary man.

Raiders, reivers and the death of Kings

The Fenwicks lived at Wallington when Northumberland was still a bloody border county.

A time of peace and parties

The Blacketts bought Wallington from the Fenwicks. They created a beautiful house and grand estate.

After settling at Wallington the Trevelyans emerged as a leading intellectual and political family.
