Children’s book festival celebrates Beatrix Potter’s 150th birthday

Peter Rabbit reads some books by the authors and illustrators attending the Children's Book Festival, Wray Castle, Cumbria

To celebrate Beatrix Potter’s 150th birthday, the National Trust hosted its first Children’s Book Festival this weekend at Wray Castle in the Lake District.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the first Book Festival such a fun and successful weekend.

Watch some highlights of the weekend in our Book Festival video...

The craft-making, storytelling, literary quiz, face-painting and Squirrel Nutkin raft-building meant there was a fantastic buzz wherever you where in the castle all weekend.

And of course meeting Peter Rabbit was a highlight for many!

Thank you to the brilliant authors and illustrators

We'd like to say a big thank you to all the authors, illustrators and publishers who have supported the festival and made it possible. They brought magic and sparkle to the castle with their creativity and ideas.
