Discover rock pools teeming with life at Robin Hood's Bay

There are a range of activities currently available with sessions lasting from an hour to a full day. Sessions can be combined to create a personalised itinerary and adjusted to cater for every group's individual needs.

In 2011/12 we are offering activities on several themes:

Look In and Look Out!
(Key Stages 1 and 2)
Guided talk looking into how the elements have interacted to create Robin Hood's Bay. Followed by fun time and quiz.

Rock Pool Rummage
(Key Stages 1 and 2)
A hands on session exploring the rich diversity of the seashore. Opportunities to cover food chains, adaptations and classification.

Beachcomber Fossil Hunt
(Key Stages 1 and 2)
Exploring the strand line, its treasures and discovering more about the geology of the bay.

A Different View
(Key Stages 2 and 3)
All resources are provided for a self guided orienteering trail with a difference through the twisting lanes and alleys of Robin Hood's Bay.

Where Land Meets Sea
(Key Stage 3 to A-Level)
Options include a guided walk and talk taking a closer look at the organisations working to protect the special qualities of this important coast.

Note: Most activities will involve time spent outdoors. We recommend participants wear clothing and footwear suitable for an outdoor environment, including wellies and waterproofs for the beach.
