Where to watch wildlife

The Yorkshire Coast is a fantastic place to spend some time enjoying wildlife. There are a wide range of different habitats to explore including the rock pools of the seashore, the wild flower rich coastal slopes and secluded wooded valleys.

Below are just a few of our recommendations for some of the wildlife you can go and see. If you spot anything interesting, why not tell us all about it on our facebook page.

Large parts of the National Trusts land at Port Mulgrave are covered in blackthorn. The protection offered by these spiny thickets make them ideal homes for small birds like dunnocks, yellowhammers and chaffinches. Theres one quite special bird that likes to call the scrub home too.
