About Cutmadoc

In the heart of Cornwall, Cutmadoc is the only holiday cottage on the Lanhydrock estate. You have free entry here, and at all National Trust places, during your stay. Walk 20 minutes along footpaths to reach its quintessential country house, full of stories of the Agar-Robartes mining family and insight into Victorian life above and below stairs. The team at Lanhydrock are dedicated to conserving the estate's fascinating heritage, and you can now see a major project underway to repair and conserve the Long Gallery ceiling up close by climbing up onto a purpose-built scaffold.  You can wander the colourful gardens, and explore miles of trails through ancient woodland and along the river. Try the Lanydrock Deer Wall Walk (4.3 miles) or the Lanhydrock Respyn Ramble (1 mile) along the riverside to spot wildlife including otters and kingfishers. Lanhydrock is a great place to bring bikes (or hire them from the estate), as there are off-road cycle trails as well as routes for families and beginners. There's a regular Park Run on the estate too.

Cutmadoc is a single-storey cottage with classic interiors, a bright, new kitchen and doors  from the sitting room onto the veranda, which looks out onto a secluded, peaceful garden wrapping round three sides of the cottage. It works well for a family or friends staying together, getting together by the fire or on the veranda.

Both coasts are just 40 minutes away. Head north to the surfing beach of Polzeath and the bustling harbour villages of Padstow and Port Isaac for a wander, or a day at the beach. Closer to home you’ll find all the amenities you need in the town of Bodmin, where you can also pick up the 18-mile Camel Trail. Head south for the Eden Project, enjoy the coast at Lantic Bay or spend an afternoon in Lostwithiel.
