Daffodils and snowdrops

Soon we will be moving from winter to spring, fancy a walk around the grounds? With fantastic views over the Exe estuary along with our thousands of new flowering bulbs and plants for this season and for years to come. During February, will be featuring a brand new temporary exhibition of 1,000 snowdrops hanging from the trees in the orchard.

As spring approaches, it is a wonderful time to explore A la Ronde. While there are no leaves on the trees the estuary sea views are fantastic, and throughout the grounds spring flowering bulbs and shrubs are starting to provide pockets of colour.

During February, will be featuring a brand new temporary exhibition of 1,000 snowdrops hanging from the trees in the orchard.  Hand-crafted by volunteers and staff at the property, the Japanese-inspired ‘kokedama’ (a natural plant-hanging technique of mosses which are moulded into pretty ball shapes, then have snowdrops planted in them), were created over the winter. The exhibition aims to give a different perspective on the beautiful spring flowers and will be on display until the end of February, when the snowdrops will then be planted around the estate.

See daffodils, bluebells, tulips and trees covered in blossom as spring takes hold in our grounds. Our gardeners and garden volunteers work year round, planting and tending to plants that now burst into bloom after the winter. Celebrate the arrival of the new season with a visit to house and grounds.

Your spring day out will also help us to carry on looking after gardens and green spaces for everyone to enjoy. Stop for a spot of refreshment in our café, as every purchase also helps our work caring for special places.

Ask at Reception about our Estate Tours - The A la Ronde estate has the fine bones of a Regency garden.  Unearth a piece of history on our volunteer-guided tour that will show you secrets and stories of the estate.  These tours will start around Easter, keep an eye on the website for more details.
