Our plan to nurse the environment back to health

We’ve launched an ambitious plan to nurse the natural environment back to health and reverse the alarming decline in wildlife. Our strategy for the next decade will also see us invest in looking after the nation’s heritage.

How the appeal adds up

  • It costs an average of £180 per metre to create a new upland footpath in Snowdonia
  • 126 of our coastal sites are at risk from tidal flooding
  • Some 45 volunteer toad patrollers help save toads on the North Yorkshire Moors

Where we need your help

Bluebells in Langton West Wood, Purbeck

Woodlands of Purbeck

Despite being better known for its heaths and coastline, Purbeck is dotted with ancient woodlands which support some of our rarest wildlife.

Why give to the National Trust?

As a charity, we rely on the generosity of supporters to look after the outdoor spaces in our care.
