Mount Stewart garden appeal
You've been helping us to restore Mount Stewart. But surrounding land we've recently acquired now needs our attention. Can you support this celebrated place a little more?
How the appeal adds up
- The house has re-opened after an £8 million restoration project
- There remains 900 acres of demesne land in urgent need of repair
- Mount Stewart comprises an area approximately 167 hectares in size
Bringing the gardens to life
Help the Rose Garden bloom again
We want to reinstate the historic urns and pathways in the newly-acquired walled garden, and to rebuild the pergola and plant an array of scented period roses.
Help revive the Vinery glasshouse
We plan to restore the Vinery glasshouse in the Walled Garden back to its former glory. It will provide a safe home for a planned collection of rare soft fruits and Northern Ireland’s oldest vine.

Why give to the National Trust
As a charity, we rely on the generosity of supporters to look after the historic buildings in our care. Not only do our supporters help to conserve beautiful homes and stunning gardens. They also ensure that future generations have places where they can be inspired by stories of the past, enjoy peace and time to reflect, and make memories to treasure. With your support, we can continue to protect the irreplaceable. For ever, for everyone.
