What's happening at Trevose?

Since acquiring the headland in 2016, we have removed rusty gates and unsightly fencing and repaired Cornish hedges. New oak gates in keeping with the landscape have been installed and a new footpath has been established to create a circular walk. Wildlife surveys have helped to determine appropriate land management for the benefit of the skylarks, corn buntings and coastal flowers such as kidney vetch and thrift. Much work is still needed such as fencing and further coast path repairs to look after Trevose Head for wildlife and people into the long term.

How your generosity helps Trevose Head

  • One oak waymarking post costs £100 Providing information for visitors following the footpath
  • To look after 1 mile of coastline for a year it costs £3,000 Trevose Head has 2.3 miles of coastline
  • Your help will contribute towards the care of 90 hectares of important wildlife habitat
" We are taking a major step in making better, bigger and more joined up wildlife habitats at Trevose Head. Some cereal crops will be grown alongside hay meadows and unharvested wild bird seed plots all of which will attract nesting farmland birds, provide valuable foraging areas all year round and vital habitat for insects and rare plants. Further donations will really help us continue to carry out and develop this important conservation work. "
- Mike Simmons, Lead Ranger
