Woodlands appeal

There’s wonder to be found under the gold-flecked canopies of our woodlands. More than a sanctuary for wildlife, trees clean our air and bring balance to our fragile landscape. Donate today and help keep our woodlands breathing forever

Protect the trees that protect us

We can’t hide from the changes around us - temperatures are rising, air quality is suffering, and our wildlife is at risk. But did you know trees are our natural armour in the battle against climate change? These noble eco-warriors clean our air and turn carbon dioxide into oxygen.

Thanks to supporters like you, we have grown to be the largest conservation charity in Europe, but we want to do more to protect precious older trees and plant more native saplings. You can help by donating today.

Did you know?

  • We look after around 12 million trees across all the places in our care
  • A single tree can remove 1 tonne of carbon from our air over 40 years
  • Our tallest tree is 58 metres in height - it's a grand fir at Skelghyll Woods, Ambleside

" Rare is the person who does not like trees! Whether it is the feel of different barks, the fun of trying to catch a falling leaf in autumn, or a place to breathe in the sense of timelessness only found beneath the canopy of ancient oaks, trees give us so much."
