Groups are welcome to visit Basildon Park during the week: Monday to Friday (except Bank Holidays and during school holidays). We require advance booking for groups so please contact us for group admission prices. We would recommend that you allow three hours to see the house, gardens and have time to stop for lunch or tea.
Coaches and access
Coach parking is in the main car park, which is 400 yards from the house. This is for coaches and mini-buses. A free tea or lunch voucher is provided for the coach driver. Please be aware that the gates are 3.2m (10ft 6") wide. The main house is a 400 yards' walk from the car park, however there is a buggy transfer for anyone less mobile. The main showrooms of the house are accessed via 20 steps.
Book a guided tour
For an additional cost we can arrange guided tours of the house for your group to discover more about the history of Basildon Park.
Get a bite to eat
Our tea-room is located on the ground floor of the house. Hot food is available from 12pm - 2.30pm every day and we serve a wide range of foods, including hot and cold light lunches. We do ask groups to stagger their entry to the tea room to help to manage queuing times for all our visitors.
Explore the parkland
There are four self-guided walks in our parkland which are all clearly sign posted with way-markers. They vary in length and difficulty, with two being suitable for all-terrain buggies.
Enjoy afternoon tea
Why not treat your group to a private afternoon tea in the Garden Room? We serve a menu of sandwiches, scones with jam and cream and some of our homemade cake. Afternoon tea is priced at £30 per head (Min 25 people - Max 40 people). An additional room hire fee applies.
