Our Mulberry tea room has had a make-over and is looking very smart. Pop in for a bite to eat or a freshly brewed cup of tea and slice of homemade cake and take a look at what we've been up to. We think you'll be impressed.

Our Mulberry tea room is now open again following its refurbishment. We look forward to welcoming you. Pop in and enjoy a hot drink and piece of cake and sit back and take a look at what we've done. We think you'll like what you see.

We're proud of our sunny tea room and stunning surroundings. It's a perfect place to be able to enjoy our homemade dishes with your family and friends. We take a pride in creating fond memories of your visit to Bateman's and believe that these start in the tea room with the delicious aromas and tasty food.

If you have something to celebrate, come and visit us and we'll help make your day one to remember. Don't forget we serve more than just cream teas. 

Visit us between 11am-12 noon and you can sample our tasty savoury pastries and delicious cakes. Lunch is served between 12 noon - 2.30pm. Our excellent home-made meals are created from the freshest seasonal British produce, choose from a healthy snack or main meal with a selection of fresh bread to accompany.

Shopping at the Oast House Shop

Our Oast House shop has a great range of gifts suitable for all, from pretty homeware products to a variety of tasty food items.

We've an interesting range of books too, including a great selection of Rudyard Kipling books, bibliographies and writings that will captivate your imagination and inform and, maybe even, motivate you to pen something yourself.

Children's toys and books

For children, we have a fun range we have a fun range of toys in our shop. Perfect to play with here or at home.

Kipling wrote many stories for his children, Elsie & John, and Macmillan publishers have produced a special range of Kipling storybooks which are available for you to buy to take home to enjoy with your children and grandchildren.

Something for your home

There are plenty of inspirational food gifts and souvenirs that are great to take home to keep the memory of your visit alive. Look out for the special jars of Bateman's honey made from our own bees who have been buzzing around the sweet flowers in the gardens and meadows.

For that special something to add to your home, we have delicate wool throws, perfumed candles and pretty crockery.

Treat yourself to something with our attractive printed fabric bags, pretty scarves and gorgeous floral scented toiletries.
