Skyline Forest School
Forest School is a child-led process, in a safe, secure environment, giving the child the opportunity, and time to explore, learn and play. Tania Orgill of PlayWood Forest School welcomes children from 18 months old, with a range of activities, songs, games, and snack time around the fire, with tea supplied for the grown-ups.
Forest School sessions on the Bath Skyline launched in January 2017, and since then Tania, the children and their parents have explored the National Trust woodland through the changing seasons. The wildflowers, the dappled shade, the falling leaves and a little mud (some days are muddier than others, especially when the children decide to empty out the water to make a muddy puddle for jumping in).
" Forest School sessions provide us with a unique time to play together in such a beautiful outdoor, forest environment - something that we just don’t get to do throughout the rest of the busy week. "
Skyline Forest School is about more than just the children having a good time. It's an opportunity for parents and children to have fun together, playing, learning, discovering new things, and making a muddy mess without having to clear up afterwards (all-in-one waterproofs for the little ones are very useful).
" It's the perfect opportunity to learn new skills and learn more about our natural environment in a safe and secure setting. John always looks forward to Monday morning and sings the forest school songs at breakfast time."
Sessions run on Monday mornings during term-time. Spaces are limited so booking is essential.
