Below stairs tours at Belton House

Take a tour and delve into the hidden lives of the below stairs staff who kept the mansion running.

Life below stairs

Hidden from view but very much a hive of activity, the servants working below stairs kept the mansion running no matter what time of year.

Today you can get a glimpse into the hidden lives of the people who worked in Belton's basement on a below stairs tour. You'll see where the servants worked and lived, hear about the jobs they would have done, and maybe even a bit of gossip.

Take the tour

Tours run each day from 11am - 3pm. Please note these tours are volunteer led and subject to availability. With limited spaces they can book up quickly, so we advise collecting a ticket on arrrival to avoid disappointment.

The tour is free of charge for National Trust members. For non-members there's an upgrade fee on top of the grounds admission if a house and grounds ticket was not obtained on entry.
