Below stairs tours at Belton House

Take a tour and delve into the hidden lives of the below stairs staff who kept the mansion running.

Life below stairs

Hidden from view but very much a hive of activity, the servants working below stairs kept the mansion running no matter what time of year.

Today you can get a glimpse into the hidden lives of the people who worked in Belton's basement on a below stairs tour. You'll see where the servants worked and lived, hear about the jobs they would have done, and maybe even a bit of gossip.

Take the tour

Tours run each day from 11am until 2pm in winter and 3pm in summer. Please note these tours are volunteer led and subject to availability. With limited spaces they can book up quickly, so we advise collecting a ticket on arrrival to avoid disappointment.

Below stairs tours are free with a House and Grounds ticket and free of charge for National Trust members. During the winter, there's an upgrade fee on top of the grounds admission, for non-members, if a house and grounds ticket was not obtained on entry.
