Picnics at Belton House
Find a secluded spot for lunch out in the parkland, or take in the splendour of the mansion with a picnic on the Oval Lawn.
Wherever you choose, you’ll be able to watch the birds soar overhead and the deer grazing. Belton’s rangers ensure there’s enough seed, nuts and fruit grown naturally to keep the wildlife full too so please take your litter home.
Packed with a picnic, the 3rd Earl and Countess Brownlow enjoyed the Wilderness Garden while punting on the River Witham. Boarding near the Boathouse, Adelbert and Adelaide headed upstream to rest on the southernmost island. Here, they found the summerhouse, one of the garden’s follies along with the peace and tranquillity to enjoy an afternoon picnic.
Whether you're seeking peace and quiet or want somewhere where the family can let off steam, there are some great picnic spots at Belton. Gather friends and family, pack your hampers and enjoy a relaxing day in the great outdoors.
