A Carpet of Flowers

Every year, Belton's house team put together a floral display in the Chapel Drawing Room. Stop by and take in this year's masterpiece.

Belton's carpet of flowers in 2016, commemorating the christening of the present Lord Brownlow

This year’s Carpet of Flowers is inspired by the christening of the present Lord Brownlow, Edward Cust, in the Chapel on 1 August 1936. The design illustrates both the formal announcement in The Times and the celebrations that followed the service here at Belton.

In total the display contains: 300 red carnations, 400 white carnations, 825 yellow carnations and two amounts of 250 blue carnations delivered over the two week run. It has taken a team of volunteers and staff three days to install this year's display.
