Making your mark at Beningbrough Hall

Making your mark creative writing drop-in sessions at Beningbrough

Take inspiration from the creative women featured in 'Making her mark: celebrating creative women', on display in the hall, to write your best-seller.

Following on from May's art drop-in sessions when we explored both hand and digitial drawing techniques, every Friday in June, we explored various writing techniques with a focus on a different portrait from the exhibition each week. The sessions proved popular so we're repeating in September. They will run hourly on Fridays from 12-5pm..

Most importantly, you do not need any prior experience - we'll guide you through different styles of writing and practices as you put pen to paper. Whether it's J.K. Rowling or Noel Streatfeild, let the portraits of the creative women guide your story.

That's York TV came to get a closer look at the exhibition and to talk to us about the drop-in sessions. Take a look at the video to find out more.

There's no need to book, just turn up and have a go.
