Inspiration for Mother's Day

Mother and son playing in the Daffodils

With Mother's Day fast approaching, we thought we'd give you some ideas to treat the special ladies in your life.

Give the gift of membership

Treat your mum to more than 500 special places to enjoy with National Trust gift membership. She can wander through daffodil covered woodlands and fragrant gardens, take in the spectacular views on a coastal walk, or savour afternoon tea at a historic house.  With options to pay monthly from £5.25 per month, you can by a gift on the day of your visit or online.

Explore the house on its first weekend of opening

Blickling Hall has been closed throughout the winter for the conservation team to give it a deep clean. There's something quite special about exploring the house for the first time, when it's been closed for so long.  Perhaps your mum is a regular visitor or she may have never been, but with all the changes we made in the house in 2015, it's just like stepping back in time to the 1930s.

Treat the family to roast chicken

There's nothing quite like a spring walk followed by a roast dinner that you haven't had to cook yourself. Enjoy roast chicken and all the trimmings and you won't even need to do the washing up afterwards!

Indulge in a special cake platter

Treat your mum this Mother's Day

Why not enjoy one of our special cake platters with mini scones and three indulgent delights - all for £5.95.  You could share it with the family, but just make sure mum gets to choose the most tempting one first!

For plant lovers

Our plant shop opens for the season this weekend, so why not pop along and let your mum pick her favourites to plant in the garden.  From flowering shrubs to gardening books and accessories, there's plenty for anyone who loves spending time in the garden.

... and if you're already sorted with a present

Simply wander through the spring flowers, explore the bookshop or discover the woodland walks.
