Blickling Estate's Summer of Sport
This summer we have an exciting programme of fun and games across the estate. Enjoy keeping fit with a variety of activities from cycling to cricket...
Little Explorers | Tuesdays and Saturdays
In partnership with Cotswold Outdoor, we're offering free family walking sessions. From Tuesday 4 June, join us outside Estate Barn visitor reception, at the main car park, before heading out to explore Blickling's wider estate and all it has to offer. Children of all ages, buggies and wheelchairs are welcome to join in the adventure.
Please note: places must be booked online in advance. Sessions are aimed at children aged eight and younger, but we encourage the whole family to join in.
Bicycle adventures | Daily
Blickling cycle hub is open every day from 10am and provides a range of bikes with something for everyone. Ideal for family groups, enjoy venturing further afield and exploring the wider estate.
In partnership with British Cycling and HSBC UK we're offering low cost cycle and equipment hire for all ages, making it easier than ever to get out into Blickling's beautiful 4,600 acres of parkland. Come along and discover a new way to enjoy nature on two wheels.
Please note: Last hire is 2pm and all bikes must be returned by 4pm at the latest.
Wimbledon | Monday 1 - Sunday 14 July
In celebration of Wimbledon, we've set up a net in the garden for our visitors to enjoy a game of tennis in beautiful surroundings. You’ll also find deckchairs for a comfortable spot to spectate - so why not collect a tasty treat from one of our cafés and soak up the garden atmosphere in style?
Please note: Last entry to the garden is an hour before closing.
Cricket | Selected dates
Join the Norfolk Cricket Board for free cricket coaching sessions this summer and enjoy discovering this well-loved sport and learning new skills.
Please note: further details TBC.
" It has been exciting to work on this innovative project to offer people the chance to play cricket at some of the most well-known locations in the county. We hope that families and friends will enjoy adding something really fun and special to their day out."
Cricket has always been a favourite at Blickling Estate, with the first game on record dating back to 1787. Over two hundred years later, why not continue the legacy and have a go at this classic past-time?
